About this coffee

Welcome to Los Campos!

At Los Campos farm of Don Alexis Coffee, specialty coffee is carefully cultivated at an elevation of 1750 meters. The Ramirez-Navarro family's commitment makes this coffee special, honoring their history while looking towards the future. Not only does it receive great attention in cultivation, but it is also dehydrated.

This coffee undergoes an extended black honey process. You can taste notes of vanilla, mango, and cardamom, combined with a velvet sweetness and full body. A coffee that shines equally as espresso or filter.

But what exactly is the black honey process? The ripe berries are first picked by hand, then rested for 24 hours. Afterward, they are dehydrated, preserving as much fruit flesh around the coffee beans as possible. Then, the beans are roughly dried for about 25 days on African Beds (a woven mat on a base, allowing enough air circulation around the beans). This process demands meticulous care and attention but results in a complex, sweet coffee with full body.

We are proud to be able to sell this coffee from Don Alexis!
