About this coffee

This wonderfully smooth and sweet Ugandan coffee was traded via our partner, The Coffee Quest, who in turn works locally with Agri Evolve, a key player in Uganda’s specialty coffee sector. Agri Evolve works closely with smallholder farmers to improve coffee quality, productivity, and sustainability. Established in the Rwenzori region, which provides a fertile environment for coffee farming, the company provides essential infrastructure, such as washing stations and drying facilities, ensuring that coffee is processed to the highest standards.

This lot is natural processed, meaning that the beans are sun-dried while still inside the flavour-rich cherries, allowing them to develop a sweeter character. After achieving the desired moisture content, the cherries are then hulled, graded, and colour-sorted before being made ready for export. We’ve roasted this coffee on a slightly shorter medium roast profile, meaning that you can expect a balance between more traditional chocolatey flavours and lighter, fruity notes. The coffee has a lot of body and sweetness, and we find that it works great as either espresso or filter.
